People often ask...

Do you offer telehealth + in-person sessions?

Yes. I offer both in-person sessions at The Benk Collective office in West Los Angeles and virtual sessions over zoom (with clients in California and New York).

Do you work with insurance?

I provide monthly superbills for insurance reimbursement, but do not contract directly with third parties for payment. I do this because insurance companies typically have stringent limitations about the number and type of sessions that can be provided. I find these limits constraining to the type of depth-oriented work my clients and I do together and never want to compromise the quality of service I'm providing.

What is an LCSW?

Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) are specialists who understand that people are products of their environment, and that in order to achieve peace internally, we must also look at the environment. To my work, I bring a commitment to anti-racist/anti-oppressive, queer affirming, and HAES (health at every size) care. LCSW's in California and New York are licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences and the New York State Office of the Professions, respectively. Requirements for licensure include a master's degree, passage of two comprehensive written examinations, and at least 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience. I am licensed in both California and New York.
